To deplete one's vitality
In Norse mythology, Surtur was the demi-god of the underworld, and he wished to become to lord of all gods. In his evil quest, he enlisted the aid of the kings of the giants: hill, stone, fire, and ice. Thrym was the king of the ice giants.
However, years ago, I couldn't remember how to spell that, so I got Thryn, and it stuck.

There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.
There is another which states that this has already happened.
